How my photography career Started
I was a BROKE island boy shooting surf photos & video!
Hi I'm Brad Scott. I started out shooting surf photography, living on the North Shore of Oahu. I learned a quickly about framing the shot as surfers and waves move FAST and are very unpredictable. I was renting a small 12x12 shed in the backyard of a Hawaiian families home on the North Shore. Working full time at a construction job on the side and when 2008 came around I was broker than a joke. If you want to build a 6 figure photography business.... DON'T DO SURF PHOTOGRAPHY! Surfers don't pay and neither do their sponsors. Instead follow my step by step framework for building a successful Architectural & Interiors Photography business and shoot surfing for fun.
Then came Real Estate Photography
My first Real Estate Shoots were a disaster. I thought it would be the easiest thing ever. How hard could it be to shoot an object that doesn't move, with no people to pose. Boy was I wrong! It took me years to figure out how to create beautiful Real Estate Photos that had clients calling me to shoot every listing. Looking back at this photo from one of my first interior shoot is embarrasing...
I was determined to figure it out.
I was NOT going to let a house defeat me. I watched hours upon hours of YouTube videos. I even spent money on some photography courses that were mediocre at best. They didn't explain the Step by Step process I now use, to get my interior photos looking EPIC every time.

My Real Estate Photos got better & better
After I spent years figuring out the secrets to color correction, lighting, composition & overall knowing what looks good (sorry to the realtors who were my guinea pigs). I was getting called daily to shoot luxury homes for Realtors. I was called to shoot some of the most expensive listings in the country. Multiple homes over $36,000,000. I got so busy, I had to turn away clients that weren't willing to pay at least $500 per shoot.
I fell in love with shooting interiors
I wanted to branch out & start shooting for Hotels, Architects, Builders and Interior Designers. The level of quality required was yet again another learning curve that I had to take on. Architects, Hotels & Interior Designers etc. are after a different look than real estate photos. The focus is on accurate colors, natural light architecture and design.
